There and back again.

It ain't easy finding an affordable ticket to Namibia. If I had booked a ticket last May for May 2009 from Brussels via Heathrow to Windhoek, it'd cost me EUR 802. That same ticket is now EUR 970. And no matter how hard I try, I can't find anything cheaper than that at the moment, no matter if I fly from Amsterdam, Brussels or Düsseldorf. The booking calendars only go through to august 2009 though, maybe once the tariffs for the rest of 2009 are known, I might get something better.

But thanks to the wonders of the internet, I've found a possible alternative. It would mean getting a ticket to either Johannesburg or Cape Town, and from there take a 'luxury' coach to Windhoek. A 24-hour coach trip (with stops of course). The plus would be getting to see a bit of South Africa and Namibia, AND it's cheaper than a direct ticket to Windhoek (as in saving me EUR 100+). The downside of course would be the extended traveltime, the pure logistics of getting from the airport to the bus depot with all my luggage and the possibility of being stuck in a coach with screaming babies/kids.

Hrm, choices, choices. First of all I need to get the feedback from CCF of course. Still haven't received a confirmation. Think I'll mail them again today.

A 24-hour coach trip sounds pretty interesting, but it might also be very tiring.

Good luck anyway :D Hunting the cheapest flight price is tricky!
