Therapeutic Ironing

It exists. I discovered it today. I needed to do something to keep my mind off of all the things going on at the moment with my family. After work, I made a brief visit to a store where they sold a 500 GB external hard disk drive for 90 euro's. They were sold out. Driving home, I concluded this must be karma, that I don't really need the thing and that I can better save the cash for more important things, like the trip to Berlin, paying off debt and (hopefully) the 2009 trip to Namibia.

Got home and spent two and a half hours tackling my clean laundry. I ironed away a pile of shirts and folded everything that didn't need to be ironed. Now all that's left is a bunch of pants, a few T-shirts and a sweater or two. Had some music playing and time flew by. Looking back I'm quite proud of myself that I managed to channel my pent-up energy and frustration into something useful.

I did get two updates during the day. I confessed my concern to dad about his memory loss. He assured me not to worry and that it's just one of the symptoms of growing older. I asked him to consider telling his doctor next time he's getting a check-up. He said "The moment I start calling you Peter, THEN you should worry and get help.". Still, I hope he'll listen to me and get himself checked out. My uncle's partner got a 'partial diagnosis' today. The doctors said that the tumor is likely benign. And if it turns out that there's a malign part in it or attatched to it, it will still be in the very first stages of development, making treatment easier with a higher chance of success.

Before I forget, thanks for all your support and well-wishes yesterday. It really meant a lot to me. And now I'll go get some sleep. Tomorrow I might be taking jonesybunny to the gaming club in Leiden. Or else I can still do some therapeutic taxforms.
