Too much sickness

Grandma's had cardiac surgery but is home now and doing well. Not bad for an 85-year old. But so much for the good news. Still no news on aunt. Update is expected today, but she stays positive "If something had been REALLY wrong with me, the doctors would've taken action by now."

But now another person has been added to the 'very sick' list. One of dad's very best friends with whom he's been making music for over 30 years is in the hospital now, fighting cancer as well. A part of a lung and a part of the esophagus have been removed. Too many bad things starting to hit too close to home.

First, I get the good news that my aunt doesn't have any metastases (dutch: uitzaaiingen), but along with it the less good news that another doctor will have to decide if she's going to have to go through chemo-therapy or medications just to be on the safe side.
Then, someone shows up with "Raket" ice-pops and life is good for a moment.
Next, I hear that grandpa had a light heart-attack in the middle of the night.
A bit later, I get a call from head-office that I might be working in Brussels 2 days a week for the next three months, which I think is niiiice.

And now I'm waiting for the next bit of bad news to hit me. The day is far from over.

P.S. damanique and jonesybunny, tonight 9.50 pm we're gonna see Iron Man at the Buitenhof in The Hague. Haven't booked yet, I have a sneaking suspicion that Roomie Rick has an early shift and might want to tag along.
