Sometimes I wish I could get a job testing beds and matrasses, getting paid to sleep. I'm good at sleeping :D

Friday: quite a productive day jobwise: First had an interview with a recruiter, the same guy who also got me in contact with the deluxe restaurant here in Leiden. He told me that he had quite a nice list of job offers, including a few in Ireland that might be very interesting for me - so he said. But he wants me to concentrate on one thing at a time, so after our very interesting chat, he took me along to the restaurant for my interview there with the owner. And what a gorgeous restaurant it is.... The only downside to the whole thing was, that they're looking for someone to come lead and organize their banquet functions. So I would be busy with all the parties, dinners and weddings (70-80 of those a year!) and not with the actual restaurant. Pity. I still put my best foot forward though. There's no such thing as the PERFECT job. Unless it's testing beds and ... Oh, shut up, Rob. I asked if I could come back when there was a group eating there, and so I'm going back on wednesday to see how the machine runs when there's 80 dinner guests.

Saturday: Drove to Utrecht with two other members of the gaming club to demo a few games at a gaming fair. Much fun was had with stuff like Badaboom!, Space Pirate Amazon Ninja Catgirls and Runebound. Couldn't help myself (it's hard at gamingconventions) but limited the damage to one Trade Paperback. R.A. Salvatore's Drizzt Do'Urden stories now in comic. Unable to resist....
Aaaanyway, Saturdaynight I took Rick along to see Solo, a new up and coming dutch duo with dreamy songs comparable to Coldplay. I won the tickets, and since this is a very new band, we both went in without expectations. The support act sucked donkey-balls, but we only had to endure that for 30 mins. Luckily there was a bar ;). But when Solo came and played, we were both well impressed. I like dreamy stuff and I was pleasantly surprised to discover that Rick (whose tastes normally run in the hard and heavy rock department) could appreciate the music as well. After the concert we had a little fun watching the national Goth crowd streaming out of the large hall (Bauhaus was playing there), went home, crashed. End of story.
