Valentine, Love and other displeasantries

Why do I fall into the same trap every year? Getting my hopes up around Valentine's day, knowing that the only card I'll get, will be from an old friend of mine (who's extremely happy in her current relationship, and her boyfriend is indeed very cool 'n nice, damn him! :D).

This year it probably has to do with the fact that I've been kissing with a nice girl for a few nights in a row. She lives in the same house/hotel as me and she's my little brother's classmate. The kissing's been nice, don't get me wrong ;) but she also made it pretty clear that she's not looking for anything serious, just the occasional cuddle. Confessions like this make me feel I'm some sort of slave, only useful when a girl needs a hug or something more.

Are oldfashioned girls so hard to come by? The type that flirts, that will allow you to take her on a date, that holds hands, kisses very sweetly and whose smile makes you weak in your stomach? I'm all for sexual revolution and such, but not when I happen to run into someone who's like 'Let's kiss tonight and act like nothing's happened the next morning.' Am I expecting too much? I've never been the kind of guy for a one night stand or wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am. Perhaps that's why I feel so blue now I've met the female counterpart. To them kissing is a pleasant passtime, but romance's got nothing to do with it.

Bleh, Valentine's Day. Nice when you're in love, sucks when you're not.
