Is anyone out there?

To anyone who's reading this: We are three men bunkered up in our house at the Smidstraat in Katwijk. TV reports about a worldwide zombie outbreak, and while luckily we live in a rather deserted industrial area, it'll only be a matter of time before the undead come knocking on our door. We are Rob Driessen, my roommate Rick Spermon and our downstairs neighbour and landlord Pieter Schuitemaker. Our house isn't very defendable, too open on all sides. We're armed with my kitchen knife set, Rick is busy reading through his Zombie Survival guide and Pieter is working on rations. It helps that he owns a fish-shop. His three dogs are in the house now, posted as sentries.

In case we DO get found by the living dead, we won't be able to make a stand for very long. Our exit strategy is running across the garden and into Pieter's little speedboat that's waiting in the river that flows behind our house. We've siphoned extra fuel from his car to bring along on the trip. Our destination will be the former oilplatform a.k.a. Het REM Eiland. If we stick to the middle of the river, we should be able to get out into the sea and towards the platform that lies 10 km out into the sea. Hopefully we won't have to deal with any obstructions like dams or locks. This will be my last entry for a while. Good luck to everyone out there. Be strong, my friends.
